Marzipan inGerman means "March bread." Marzipan has recently come to replace saltand grains that were once stored in the warehouses of Lubeck. Marzipan is Lubeck’snew gold, its top seller on par with Rotspon (perfectly seasoned red wine) andthe Christmas market in December, which also became a brand. The Marzipan Museum is near the Trave river. The admissionis free. The exhibition includes a variety of subjects and figures frommarzipan; the best examples of small forms (marzipan sweets and specialsouvenirs) are collected here.
