Forest covers 62% of Arnsberg. It is not surprising that the city authorities consider it one of the most important tourist resources. Arnsberger Wald nature reserve is one of the largest forest areas in Germany. The length of all trails here is about 650 km. There are routes for regular and Nordic walking, as well as for cycling and horse riding.
For lovers of wildlife the direct road is to Wildwald Vosswinkel located in Fossvinkel at the other end of Arnsberg. This is not a zoo, but here you can see a variety of fauna in their natural environment. There are viewing platforms in the forest to ensure safe watching of wilderness areas. Excursions with guide for adults and children are also offered.
